New Delhi: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP from Berhampur Chandra Sekhar Sahu Tuesday asked the Union government to start a pilot venture for redesign of a few water system extends in Gajapati region.

The BJD administrator told the Lok Sabha during uncommon notice under Rule 377 that a great deal of little and medium water system ventures which were built during pre-Independence time by Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati for water system and drinking water are presently brimming with sediment.

“Every one of the undertakings, for example, Gajapati Sagar, Ram Sagar, Sita Sagar, Krushna Sagar, Zego dam and others are currently loaded with sediment because of which their ability has gone down to 1/fourth of the ayacut. Along these lines, I ask the pastor for Jal Shakti to have some extraordinary pilot task to fix, revamp and recreate the above ventures with exceptional awards,” Sahu said.
