NEW DELHI: In an abnormal move, previous Finance Minister P. Chidambaram himself talked in the CBI court and guarded himself in the INX Media case.
A prepared legal counselor himself, P. Chidambaram said no inquiry by the examining office was left unanswered by him.
He expressed that no inquiry was presented to him on the alleged illicit installment being made to him. During the court hearing, the arraignment said the examination has uncovered that an installment of $5 million was made by Indrani Mukherjea.
The previous Finance Minister educated the court that the main inquiry CBI posed to him was whether he has an abroad financial balance, to which he replied in the negative. Be that as it may, Chidambaram replied in the positive to the CBI question about the presence of an abroad ledger of his child.
Chidambaram contended quickly, in spite of having a battery of attorneys, for example, Abhishek Singhvi and Kapil Sibal.
Arraignment attorney and he Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta questioned the previous FM contending for himself. Mehta said Chidambaram should brief his advice and talk through them. Attacking Singhvi and Sibal, Mehta said Chidambaram should contend with no direction in the event that he doesn’t feel them fit to do as such.
